This role supports both new product development and sustaining engineering, with a focus on injection-molded connector components, TPU/TPE over-molded parts, and low-pressure molded interim shot tooling. The manager leads an internal tool shop staffed with toolmakers and mold design engineers. Schedule Full-time, direct hire. Compensation $110,000 to $130,000 per year. What You'll Do This manager leads and manages an internal tool shop, overseeing toolmakers and mold design engineers on staff. The role includes leading DFM reviews on new product designs, identifying draft requirements, parting lines, undercuts, shut-offs, wall transitions, and tooling risks. The manager designs and reviews injection molds for medical connector components, over-molded strain reliefs, and cable assemblies, and supports tooling concepts including gating, venting, cooling, steel conditions, surface finishes, slides, lifters, and other mold actions. This position partners closely with product engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable, robust, and cost-effective, and interfaces with external domestic and offshore mold shops during tool design, build, debug, and qualification. The manager also assists sustaining engineering teams with tooling-related issues, yield improvements, and design updates. Required Qualifications 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in mold design, tooling, or toolmaking Associate's degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience) Working proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD software Ability to conduct effective DFM and tooling feasibility reviews with engineering teams and suppliers Strong background in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments Experience working with global manufacturing partners Preferred Qualifications Experience in medical connector and cable assembly mold design, tooling engineering, or toolmaking Background as a journeyman toolmaker or significant shop floor experience Familiarity with medical validation environments (IQ/OQ/PQ awareness) Compensation and Benefits $110,000 to $130,000 per year Medical, dental, and vision insurance Short and long-term disability coverage 401(k)
