Mechanical Project Designer | Germantown, MD 100% Employee-Owned

• Big-firm resources, local-team relationships, ONE IMEG culture IMEG is hiring a Mechanical Project Designer in Germantown, MD, to lead design efforts for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff on larger, high-complexity work.

This role provides engineering solutions and advice to clients through analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry. You will work within project budgets, train and mentor staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. • Lead analysis and design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for low to moderate complexity projects.
• Create designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards.
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and maintain professional relationships.
• Support consulting-project execution through planning, budgeting, scheduling, design-progress monitoring, and documentation of client decisions.
• Analyze engineering problems and work with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical, efficient solutions.
• Conduct in-process reviews of mechanical system designs, calculations, and specifications, applying quality-control processes.
• Stay current on mechanical-engineering trends, emerging technologies, best practices, research, development, and innovation.
• Prioritize safety and identify and mitigate risks associated with mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Identify project problems, seek guidance from the Project Manager, and oversee projects through bidding and construction administration. What You'll Bring Required Education
• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required OR
• Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred Experience
• 3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry OR
• 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
