Senior Mechanical Engineer Product Development (Fuel Tank Systems)

Job Description

Build Something the Industry Needs. We are expanding into the power generation market by developing a new line of UL-listed diesel fuel tanks for standby and emergency generators. With industry lead times approaching 56 weeks , we have a unique opportunity to become a premier domestic supplier for major OEMs and industrial customers. We're looking for an exceptional Mechanical Engineer who wants to build an entirely new product line—not simply maintain existing designs. If you enjoy taking products from a blank sheet of paper to full-scale production, we'd like to talk. What You'll Do Design UL-listed steel fuel tanks for generator applications Lead product development from concept through production Develop 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation Perform structural analysis and engineering calculations Work with UL and regulatory agencies to achieve product certification Develop welding specifications and fabrication standards Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize production methods Source components and work with suppliers Improve products through testing and continuous engineering Help establish Liberty as a leading fuel tank manufacturer in North America Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) 7+ years of mechanical product design experience Expert-level SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software Experience designing fabricated steel products Strong understanding of welding, fabrication, and manufacturing Experience with structural calculations and FEA preferred Knowledge of diesel fuel systems preferred Experience with UL, ASME, API, NFPA, or related standards is highly desirable PE License is a plus but not required Ideal Background Experience in one or more of the following: Generator fuel tanks Aboveground storage tanks Heavy equipment Industrial equipment Pressure vessels Structural steel fabrication Engineered welded products
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
