Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelors of Science in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.
Experience:
10+ years' experience developing modifications to military or commercial aircraft including design and substantiation. Experience in FAA or NAVAIR Airworthiness requirements related to aircraft structural integrity. Knowledge of and experience with DoD (MIL-STDs) and commercial standards in mechanical design Knowledge of and experience with military (or commercial) operational manuals, and maintenance/sustainment technical publications Strong communications skills and work ethic.
Position Description:
Provides mechanical engineering support to F-5 Systems Lead Engineer within the Adversary and Specialized Aircraft Program Office, PMA-226. Develops mechanical repairs and modifications of the F-5N+/F+ aircraft and utilizes design and analysis methods adhering to NAVAIR structural Integrity and Airworthiness requirements. Supports Subject Matter Experts in developing technical responses for respective organizations and engineering domains including but not limited to; Structures, Mechanisms, and Flight Controls. As directed, coordinates and triages mechanical technical discrepancy requests between the PMA, FST, NAWCAD, and contracted services. Performs various in-service tasks related to the development, operation, evaluation, and improvement of Adversary aircraft, weapon systems supportability and/or maintainability programs. Develops, reviews, analyzes, and maintains familiarity with key technical engineering products (including drawings, repair dispositions, and analyses) as well as program contractual documents (including Statements of Work [SOW]).
Salary:
The projected salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 to $124,000; however, this is not a guarantee of salary. Salary will be set based on experience and contractual requirements.
