Job Description

Position Description:
ANPC is a global supplier of precision approach guidance and area surveillance solutions aimed at improving the safety and capacity of civil and military aviation for customers on all seven continents. Our transponder-based solutions are designed to serve airfields where others cannot. We are a team of extraordinary professionals working together to perform an important mission to uniquely serve airports with terrain, obstacles and other challenges that no other business can provide. Job Summary We aren't looking for a "cubicle-only" engineer. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be the primary technical counterpart to our production floor—serving as the bridge between high-level engineering concepts and physical, flight-ready hardware. We work across diverse tech branches, so if you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, you'll love it here. You need to be as comfortable building rapid prototypes and troubleshooting on the shop floor as you are releasing clean 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings. Essential Job Functions Create precise 3D digital models and release 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. Manage assemblies, configuration control, and Indented Bills of Materials (BOMs). Work hand-in-hand with technicians and machinists to apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Assembly (DFA) principles, ensuring new concepts are practical and efficient to build. Perform worst-case tolerance stack-up analyses and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T per
ASME Y14.5
) to ensure proper part fit and interchangeability. Procure components, fabricate prototype assemblies, and support environmental qualification testing (shock, vibration, thermal) to validate hardware against real-world conditions. Perform hand calculations and baseline Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate structural and thermal performance prior to physical testing. Participate in Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and Material Review Boards (MRB). Assist with root-cause analysis on non-conformances (CAPA/NCRs) to continuously improve product quality. Education and Work Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the design and development of electro-mechanical hardware, aerospace components, or ruggedized enclosures. Experience with SOLIDWORKS or other 3D computer-aided design and engineering software and PDM/PLM systems (e.g.

PDXpert) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics Excellent analytical skills with a methodical approach to breaking down mechanical issues, prioritizing fixes, and implementing practical solutions. Understanding of packaging electronics, cable harnesses, and printed circuit board (PCB) mounting requirements. Practical experience with 3D printing (FDM, SLA, SLS), basic machining, and sheet metal fabrication techniques. Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable adapting quickly in an agile hardware environment where requirements evolve. Nice to Have Exposure to environmental testing standards (such as DO-160 or
MIL-STD-810
). Familiarity with IPC standards for cable assemblies (IPC-A-620) or electronic assemblies (IPC-A-610). Experience participating in structured safety reviews (DFMEA/PFMEA). Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job in an office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Essential functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for sitting, walking or standing for periods of time; operating a computer and keyboard; talk and hear at normal room levels; using hands to finger, grasp, and feel; repetitive motion; close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; lift, push, carry, or pull up to 20 pounds.
