Key Responsibilities Assist in new product development of high speed fabric, sectional, and rolling steel doors Work with the engineering group to enhance product function, reliability and serviceability Compile and interpret data to maintain product specifications Fabricate and install prototype components Install doors for testing Install and maintain demonstration doors Conduct and document testing of doors and components Be the primary resource in preparing and conducting static and dynamic windload tests including maintenance of test equipment Act on Engineering Change Requests as needed Required Skills and Experience Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel) Background in research and development or testing Knowledge of architectural testing and international building codes a plus Analytical problem solver Ability to operate a variety of tools and equipment Able to work with minimal supervision and accomplish goals in a timely manner Experience with 2d and 3d CAD; Pro-Engineer/CREO a plus Effective communicator Ability to troubleshoot and correct issues Ability to work in a group environment Education AS in Engineering and an engineering discipline or 3 years of relevant experience Department and Supervisor The Research and Development Technician will be part of the Engineering Department and will report to the Engineering Manager Travel Expected travel will be <5% Type of Employment Full-Time Daylight Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
