Allentown, Pennsylvania job type: Permanent salary: $120,000 - 160,000 per year work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Drive cross-functional New Product Development (NPD) projects through the complete stage-gate lifecycle-from concept ideation, mathematical modeling, and rapid prototyping through to tooling qualification and full commercialization.
Partner with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Quality to define technical requirements, manage BOM cost targets, authorize procurement budgets, and conduct monthly vendor and manufacturing site evaluations.
Utilize 3D CAD software and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to perform complex static stress, fatigue, pressure, and dynamic load evaluations on mechanical and piping assemblies.
Apply expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis to engineer parts for casting, injection molding, machining, welding, and additive manufacturing.
Lead hands-on prototype testing, failure analysis, and laboratory validation against Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) targets, resolving critical tolerance and production issues during pilot runs.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Similar5+ years of piping, pressure vessel, pump, or fluid control design Abaqus for FEA preferred, working knowledge in SolidWorks, Python or 3D scanning
