ESOP WHAT YOU'LL NEED FOR THE JOB
A baccalaureate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4-year institution Minimum of 5 years' professional experience in commercial/institutional building projects. 5+ years' experience designing HVAC / Plumbing systems for buildings Strong AutoCAD and Revit capabilities Experience with AutoCAD Fabrication a plus EIT or PE license desired Strong fundamental understanding of national building codes Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite Strong Analytical and quantitative skills, and a demonstrated capability for analysis and strategic thinking Strong initiative—the willingness and ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment Ability to multi-task with multiple projects to meet strict deadlines. Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both verbally and in writing
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Design plumbing systems including sanitary, venting, water distribution, and gas piping systems Perform system design calculations, pipe sizing, and layout routing within building Select equipment for use in building systems. Prepare contract drawings detailing the designed systems. Verify that systems designed are compliant with applicable codes Communicate and coordinate with architects, owners, other engineering disciplines, vendors, building officials, other consultants, etc. throughout the design phases of the building project. Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them. Manage a small project, work area or technical skills set, monitor quality of work, and is involved in client liaison. Participating in BIM coordination meetings
