Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in Lufkin, TX. The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop mechanical systems and components for building and infrastructure projects, ensuring performance, safety, and compliance with applicable codes and standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing engineering calculations, performing machine and system design, creating and reviewing CAD models and drawings, and coordinating with architectural, civil, structural, and surveying teams. The role involves participating in project planning, supporting research and development efforts, assisting with specifications and documentation, and communicating with clients and contractors throughout the project lifecycle. The Mechanical Engineer will also contribute to quality control, troubleshooting design issues, and continuous improvement of engineering practices within the firm. Qualifications Maintain a Professional Engineering license in the State of Texas. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field required from an ABET accredited university. Candidates should have 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience, including fundamentals of thermodynamics, materials, and mechanical systems. Candidates should have experience with Mechanical Engineering Design and related analytical skills. Candidates should possess Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills for creating, modifying, and reviewing detailed drawings and 3D models. Candidates should possess Project Management skills and experience for planning tasks, managing timelines, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and tracking progress. Advanced knowledge of State building codes, industry standards, and relevant software tools (e.g., engineering analysis programs). Strong problem-solving abilities, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to collaborate effectively in an on-site team environment. Experience in building systems, industrial facilities, or similar consulting engineering environments is a plus.
