Mesquite, Texas Job Summary The Equipment Shift Engineer
Night Shift is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of manufacturing equipment during the 6:00 PM-6:00 AM night shift.
This position requires a strong background in high-volume manufacturing, production equipment, machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability. The Engineer will work closely with production and maintenance teams to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues, minimize downtime, and maintain efficient production. Schedule

6:00 PM
6:00 AM
12-hour continental shift
Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on technical support for high-volume production equipment during the night shift
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and equipment-related issues to minimize production downtime
Perform and support preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment
Monitor equipment performance, downtime, and recurring failures
Identify root causes of equipment issues and recommend corrective actions
Support equipment installations, modifications, startups, and improvements
Work closely with production and maintenance teams to keep machines running safely and efficiently
Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment documentation, and downtime reports
Support and improve Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) programs
Assist with spare parts planning and equipment repair requirements
Train and support production employees on proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
Follow all equipment safety procedures and manufacturing standards
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, uptime, and production efficiency Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
Strong experience in high-volume manufacturing and production environments
Hands-on experience with machine maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and repairs
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment
Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance programs
Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems quickly and effectively in a production environment
Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions during the night shift
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of manufacturing safety requirements and best practices
Must be willing and able to work 6:00 PM-6:00 AM on a 12-hour continental schedule Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting large-scale or high-volume manufacturing operations
Experience with automated production equipment, controls, sensors, motors, drives, or PLC systems
Experience with equipment reliability, root-cause analysis, and downtime reduction
Experience leading or supporting equipment improvement projects
Solar, semiconductor, electronics, automotive, battery, or other advanced manufacturing experience is a plus
