Mechanical Design Engineer - SolidWorks & AutoCAD Experience 5-7 years Function Mechanical Design / CAD Engineering Core Tools SolidWorks & AutoCAD Employment Type Full-time Position Summary We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 5-7 years of hands-on experience in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. The role will be responsible for developing and modifying 2D/3D mechanical designs, detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies, BOMs, and engineering documentation while ensuring designs are practical, accurate, and suitable for manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Create and modify detailed 3D models, assemblies, and mechanical components using SolidWorks. Prepare accurate 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks. Develop detailed part drawings with dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, surface finishes, and other manufacturing requirements. Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawing registers, revision records, and related engineering documentation. Convert engineering concepts, sketches, samples, and specifications into manufacturable CAD designs. Review designs for fit, form, function, manufacturability, assembly, and serviceability. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Production, Quality, Sourcing, and Engineering teams to resolve drawing and design issues. Incorporate engineering changes and maintain drawing/document revisions in accordance with established processes. Support prototype development, first-piece inspection, design validation, and production release activities. Work with vendors and manufacturing teams to clarify drawings, specifications, tolerances, and technical requirements. Participate in design improvement, standardization, cost reduction, and value-engineering initiatives. Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related technical discipline. 5-7 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and drafting. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D part modelling, assemblies, sheet metal, and drawing creation. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and detailed engineering drawings. Good understanding of GD&T, tolerances, fits, materials, and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs. Practical understanding of machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding/fabrication, and/or other relevant manufacturing processes. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain drawing accuracy and revision control. Good communication and coordination skills with engineering and manufacturing teams. Preferred Experience Experience designing industrial equipment, fabricated structures, sheet-metal components, enclosures, machinery, or electromechanical products. Experience with design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA). Exposure to engineering change management and document-control systems. Experience with

ERP/PDM/PLM
