Full Job Description Mechanical Project Engineer:
EME Mechanical is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Mechanical Construction Engineer to support our HVAC and plumbing operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who can help move projects from estimating through closeout while keeping documentation, purchasing, billing, and office processes organized. The right person is comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment, communicating with vendors and general contractors, and taking ownership of follow-up items. Responsibilities Assist with HVAC and plumbing estimating, including reviewing plans/specifications, requesting vendor and subcontractor quotes, organizing bid documents, and entering pricing into estimates. Prepare and track project submittals, product data, RFIs, equipment schedules, closeout documents, and other required project paperwork. Coordinate with project managers, field crews, vendors, suppliers, general contractors, and customers to keep projects moving. Help obtain material pricing, place purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain procurement records. Assist with job setup, change order documentation, billing support, and tracking project costs. Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including entering invoices, preparing customer billings, following up on missing documentation, and maintaining organized records. Help track outstanding receivables and assist with collection follow-up as directed. Maintain organized digital and physical project files. Identify missing information, approaching deadlines, and potential issues early and communicate them to management. Provide general administrative support to the estimating, project management, and accounting functions as needed. Qualifications Construction office, mechanical contracting, estimating, project coordination, accounting, or administrative experience preferred. Experience with HVAC, plumbing, or commercial construction is strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines at once. Comfortable reading construction plans, specifications, and equipment schedules, or willing to learn quickly. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PDF-markup/document software such as Bluebeam. Experience with construction accounting, invoicing, purchase orders, or accounting software is a plus. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated, organized, and reliable. Compensation and Schedule Full-time position Compensation based on experience Benefits and additional details discussed during the interview process Expected hours: 40.0 per week
