Job Description

Candidate supports the U.S. Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Keyport, WA Undersea Weapons Data Reduction and Analysis Processing. This position is technical in nature and supports evaluation and eventual acceptance of Heavyweight and Lightweight torpedoes, and Special Project Weapons in all phases of their build up, testing (both component and in-water). This support work entails providing information regarding all phases of this process in usable forms for decision making, the coordination for collecting this information, familiarization with various weapon specifications and technical knowledge of the database structures and servers where this information is entered and stored, is highly complex in nature. Oversee the execution and maintenance of all data reduction software programs utilized for all recording systems gathering acoustic, underwater vehicle internal, range tracking and range environmental tests. Perform acceptance testing on all new data reduction software programs for operational usage and create or update associated documentation. Maintain and update weapon trend analysis databases and design and produce formal and ad hoc reports that address the system test program results, conclusions, and recommendations.

Skills:
Familiar with Heavyweight and/or Lightweight Torpedo Components. Familiar with MATLAB, Python, and SIMDIS Familiar with Visual Basic Familiar with data analysis and signal processing techniques Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to meet high volume and quantity requirements under strict deadlines. Good working knowledge of MS Office Software, especially Excel and Access Successful candidate will be self-motivated, have an understanding of test systems, is able to work independently or part of a team, has good computer skills, has a willingness to follow company and regulatory policies, and desires to learn new skills. Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Mechanical, Electrical, Ocean, Acoustic or related Engineering field. Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks. Will be required to pass a U.S. Government background security check or hold an active security clearance.
