Revit 3D modeling Mechanical knowledge Drafting for metal components Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented CAD Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise and comprehensive mechanical and system designs using advanced CAD software. Your expertise will support the development of complex mechanical systems, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and building information modeling (BIM) tools, ensuring all designs adhere to industry standards and project specifications. Responsibilities Develop detailed 2D CAD drawings and 3D models for mechanical systems, product designs, and system layouts using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and Pro/ENGINEER. Create piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, and technical documentation to support system design and installation processes. Collaborate with design engineers to translate conceptual ideas into accurate CAD models while ensuring compliance with ASME codes & standards. Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools to produce integrated models for construction planning and facility management. Conduct mechanical drafting, assembly modeling, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and 3D CAD modeling for product development and engineering projects. Assist in the review of CAD documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications; update drawings as needed throughout project lifecycle. Support technical writing efforts by preparing detailed reports, assembly instructions, and CAD-related documentation. Experience Proven experience in mechanical drafting, 2D CAD drafting, and 3D modeling for product design or system layout projects. Hands-on knowledge of CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, Pro/ENGINEER, or equivalent platforms. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, system design processes, piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, and GD&T standards. Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) tools and their application in construction or facility management environments. Experience working with ASME codes & standards related to mechanical design and system safety requirements. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications; excellent attention to detail in drafting tasks. Knowledge of PDM (Product Data Management) software for version control and document management is a plus.
