Full Job Description About Us:
We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated, single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, as well as engineering applications and automated control systems.
Job Summary:
This position will provide drafting and engineering support to the Mesa Energy Systems Engineering Group. The Mechanical Drafter I will apply their drafting experience to support the Engineers and Team Members. This person will be presented with various projects in the commercial, industrial, government, healthcare, and education markets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform various tasks assigned by Mechanical Engineers, Senior Engineers, and the Engineering Manager/Director. Assist in producing detailed schematics for HVAC systems based on instructions and pre-established guidelines. Assist Mechanical Engineers by participating in job site surveys to gather as-built technical information. Draft and develop layouts for mechanical systems based on direction from Mechanical Engineers. Convert field surveys into usable formats for plan and project development. Use AutoCAD to develop plans. Participate in the company's project improvement process by maintaining/improving CAD Detail Library and CAD Standards. Other duties may include copying/printing/scanning, assembly of equipment submittal packages, assistance in preparing work scope, and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or a 1-year certificate program from a community college or technical school, focusing on CAD software, design fundamentals, and blueprint reading 2+ years of CAD Drafting experience with formal Auto
CAD/REVIT
Drafting training/certification enrollment or completion. Must make autonomous decisions based on experience and project requirements. Develop a working knowledge of Permitting submittal requirements in the Mechanical field. Computer-savvy, willing and able to understand and learn new software programs. Developing proficiency of AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other related software applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
