Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Drafter to support mechanical design and drafting activities in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong Autodesk Inventor experience and be comfortable creating detailed 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings, assemblies, weldments, and machined components. This position is best suited for someone with a strong attention to detail who can work independently, interpret existing drawings and sketches, and turn concepts or field measurements into accurate CAD models and manufacturing drawings. Responsibilities Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using Autodesk Inventor. Develop manufacturing drawings for mechanical components, assemblies, weldments, and machined parts. Create accurate dimensions, tolerances, BOMs, weld callouts, and fabrication details. Design and document sheet metal, welded, and machined components. Interpret sketches, existing drawings, and field measurements and convert them into accurate CAD models and drawings. Make revisions and updates to existing designs and drawings. Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and other team members to ensure drawings meet production requirements. Maintain accuracy and consistency across drawings and design documentation. Work effectively in a Design Center environment while meeting project deadlines. Requirements 3+ years of mechanical drafting or design experience. 2+ years of hands-on Autodesk Inventor experience. Experience creating manufacturing drawings, assemblies, weldments, and machined parts. Strong 2D and 3D CAD drafting skills. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, sketches, and measurements. Experience with dimensions, tolerances, BOMs, weld symbols/callouts, and fabrication details. Experience with weldments, assemblies, and sheet metal. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Strong communication skills and a hands-on, "get it done" attitude. Associate degree or technical diploma in CAD, Drafting, Mechanical Design, or a related field is preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or Solid Edge. Knowledge of
GD&T / ASME Y14.5. PDM/PLM
experience. Experience designing heavy steel structures or industrial/mobile equipment. Familiarity with hydraulics, electrical routing, or piping. Experience taking field measurements and recreating existing equipment in CAD.
