Job description Central Mine Equipment Company is a manufacturer of Drilling Equipment used in the Geotechnical and Environmental fields. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to join our team. You will be responsible for reviewing specifications and provided data to develop mechanical layouts / models. Successful candidates must have a working knowledge of mechanical parts as well as knowledge utilizing Computer Aided Design software. A strong working knowledge in Autocad Inventor Software is a plus. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong drafting skills and a passion for mechanical engineering. Responsibilities Create detailed mechanical drawings and models based on specifications provided by engineers. 2D & 3D Drafting using Autocad Software. Selection of purchased components and materials including working directly with vendors. Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements and ensure accuracy of drawings. Apply knowledge of industry codes and standards to ensure compliance in designs. Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to accurately define dimensions and tolerances. Review and revise drawings as necessary based on feedback from engineers or clients. Assist in the preparation of technical documentation. Conduct research to stay updated on new drafting techniques and technologies Skills Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design software; experience with Autocad Inventor 3D is a plus. Ability to follow instructions well and communicate with shop personnel and others. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. Familiarity with shop production methods (forming, welding, machining). Attention to detail. Familiarity with hydraulic and DC electrical circuits and components a plus. Should be familiar with Microsoft Office software. Education Associates Degree or equivalent related to mechanical design and/or CAD drafting Experience 2 years work experience in related work
