Job Description

Job Overview Powers Engineering & Inspection, Inc. is seeking a motivated, growth-oriented Field NDE Technician to join our dynamic and highly collaborative team. Working alongside experienced inspection crews and our supportive report coordination team, you will contribute directly to delivering high-quality inspection services across diverse mechanical and structural projects, with clear opportunities for professional advancement and skill development.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Support inspection crews during field inspections of tanks, piping, pressure vessels, and other industrial equipment. Assist with non-destructive examinations (NDE), including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and internal inspections. Assist with ultrasonic thickness measurements and other field inspection activities. Set up, transport, and maintain inspection equipment and tools. Accurately gather, record, and organize field notes, measurements, and inspection data. Assist inspectors with field logistics, site preparation, and equipment handling. Follow company safety procedures and client site requirements at all times. Perform other field-related duties as assigned in support of inspection and engineering teams. Requirements & Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent foundational education, paired with an eagerness to learn and grow within the field. Valid driver's license (or ability to obtain one prior to completing the introductory training period). Strong physical stamina and enthusiasm for engaging in hands-on field operations and safely operating specialized inspection equipment. Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF tools) for efficient field reporting and data collection. Strong organizational abilities and high attention to detail to ensure accuracy across all documentation. Collaborative mindset and proactive work ethic, capable of thriving in close team environments as well as working independently in the field. Flexibility and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time to support field operations and client projects. Employment requirements include the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Prior hands-on experience or formal training in Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) methods, particularly UT, MT, or PT. Familiarity with industrial inspection processes, standards, and technical report drafting. Strong technical writing skills with an ability to communicate field data clearly and concisely. Basic working knowledge of drafting software or CAD tools. Active ASNT Level I or Level II certification(s) in any method is highly desirable.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
