Spacecraft Propulsion Technician ATR International - 3.8 Palo Alto, CA Job Details Contract $35 - $40 an hour 3 days ago Qualifications Tube bending Contamination control System testing Respiratory protection Sensors Full Job Description Assemble and integrate spacecraft propulsion components (tanks, lines, valves, regulators, thrusters, brackets, heaters, sensors). Perform precision tube/line fabrication and installation (layout, bend, fit, flare, swage as required) to engineer drawings and specs. Execute propulsion system leak checks (e.g., helium mass spectrometer), pressure testing, proof/burst support activities, and purge operations.
Support propulsion system functional testing:
valve cycling, regulator set-points, instrument checks, and basic data logging. Prepare hardware and work areas for contamination control (cleanroom protocols, FOD prevention, solvent cleaning, bag-and-tag). Follow and update work instructions, travelers, torque charts, and inspection plans; record as-built configuration and non-conformances. Support hazardous operations with strict safety discipline (compressed gases, pressure systems, potentially hypergolic compatibility controls where applicable). Able to wear Self-Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble (SCAPE) suites to handle hazardous materials. Able to travel up to 3 times per year for about 3 weeks duration per trip without restriction. Troubleshoot build/test issues with engineering and quality; perform rework and corrective actions under approved procedures. Operate standard lab/shop equipment (torque tools, calipers/micrometers, pressure transducers, vacuum pumps, ovens, DMMs). IND3
