In Person Job Summary We are seeking an experienced NDT Level II Inspector for a temp-to-perm opportunity within a structural steel and fabrication environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and be capable of accurately evaluating welds, materials, and fabricated components for compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and customer requirements. Level II certification in at least two NDT methods is required, with a
MUST-HAVE
Level II UT certification. Candidates with military inspection experience, particularly Air Force veterans transitioning into the civilian workforce , are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Perform nondestructive testing using UT, RT, and MT methods as applicable. Set up, operate, and calibrate NDT equipment according to established procedures. Conduct inspections to identify discontinuities, defects, and other conditions that may affect product quality or integrity. Evaluate inspection results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and procedures. Read and interpret shop drawings, engineering drawings, codes, specifications, and contract requirements . Verify product conformance through dimensional inspections using tape measures and other inspection equipment. Perform visual inspections of structural steel and welds. Establish appropriate testing techniques for components and materials being inspected. Document inspection results accurately and maintain required quality records. Identify nonconforming conditions and communicate findings to appropriate personnel. Ensure inspections comply with customer requirements, project specifications, and applicable industry standards. Locate and properly interpret parts-of-line information when required. Understand and follow requirements related to the safe working load of hoist lines . Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Follow all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements. Work closely with welders, fabricators, quality personnel, and supervisors to resolve inspection concerns. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Level II NDT certification in a minimum of two methods. Level II UT certification is required. UT and RT experience is required. MT experience and certification strongly preferred. Ability to read and understand applicable codes, standards, specifications, and drawings . Experience performing weld and structural steel inspections preferred. Ability to accurately document inspection findings and maintain quality records. Strong attention to detail and ability to make accurate inspection decisions. Ability to safely work around industrial equipment and fabricated steel products. Preferred Background Candidates with experience in the following environments are encouraged to apply: Structural steel fabrication Welding inspection Heavy industrial manufacturing Steel fabrication and erection Nondestructive testing Industrial quality control Aerospace or military inspection Air Force NDT/inspection experience Military experience performing NDT, quality assurance, aircraft inspection, welding inspection, or related technical inspections can provide excellent transferable skills for this position. Temp-to-Perm Opportunity This is a temp-to-perm position with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role based on performance, attendance, productivity, and overall fit with the company . Compensation $28.00-$38.00 per hour Compensation will be based on the candidate's NDT certifications, level of experience, ability to perform inspections accurately, and overall productivity . Employees are paid weekly every Friday. Schedule Monday-Thursday Full-time, in-person position. Work Environment This position is performed in an industrial fabrication environment and may involve working around structural steel, welding operations, cranes, hoists, and heavy manufacturing equipment. Candidates must follow all applicable safety procedures and use required PPE.
