Job Summary Position Overview:
We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team in a full-time, on-site capacity. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of welded assemblies through in-process inspections and detailed reporting. This is a hands-on position focused on shop-floor presence, documentation, and collaboration with production and quality teams.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Perform in-process and final weld inspections in accordance with applicable codes and specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications
- Develop detailed weld maps using internal layouts and customer-supplied drawings
- Generate comprehensive weld inspection reports including: o Itemized weld joints and seams o Material and filler certifications o Welder certifications and activity reports o WPS and PQR documentation o Inspection dates and third-party test reports o Stud test reports
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, including AWS and ASME standards
- Maintain detailed, accurate records in support of internal audits and customer traceability requirements
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- CWI Certification (AWS QC1 required)
- Familiarity with relevant codes: o
AWS D1.1, D1.6, B2.1, A2.4
o ASME Section IX o
AGS-G006
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Basic AutoCAD experience a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently on the shop floor
