Welding Inspector Eden, North Carolina, United States Welding Inspector - Natural Gas Interconnect & Metering Facility

4+ months Overview We are seeking a Welding Inspector to support construction of a new natural gas interconnect and metering facility, including yard piping, hot-tap and tie-in connections, and associated fabrication work. This role is responsible for verifying weld quality and procedure compliance throughout construction. Key Responsibilities Monitor and inspect welding activities for compliance with approved
WPS/PQR/WPQ
documentation Verify welder qualifications and continuity records prior to and during work Perform visual weld inspection (VT) and coordinate NDE (RT/UT/MT/PT) as required by spec Review and interpret radiographic and other NDE results; document acceptance or rejection per code Inspect fit-up, joint preparation, and preheat/interpass temperature compliance Support hot-tap and tie-in weld inspection, including fitting and branch connection welds Maintain daily inspection reports, weld maps/logs, and NDE tracking documentation Identify and document weld defects or non-conformances; track through repair and re-inspection Coordinate with Chief Inspector and QA/QC on non-conformance resolution Enforce site safety requirements and participate in job hazard analyses Required Qualifications 5+ years of pipeline/facility welding inspection experience CWI certification (AWS) required;
API 1104
experience strongly preferred Working knowledge of ASME B31.8 and 49 CFR 192 welding requirements Ability to read and interpret welding procedures, isometrics, and P&IDs Strong documentation skills; experience with weld tracking logs NDE Level II certification (RT/UT/MT/PT) a plus Valid driver's license; able to travel to site and work outdoors in varied conditions
