Full Job Description Overview ARC Energy is seeking a skilled and dependable Hydrostatic Test Technician to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing hydrostatic pressure testing of pressure vessels, piping, and process equipment in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, and applicable industry standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to accurately document test results. Familiarity with pressure vessels and ASME Section VIII, Division 1 requirements is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform hydrostatic pressure testing of pressure vessels, piping, and process equipment according to approved procedures and specifications.
Review drawings, test procedures, and documentation to determine appropriate test requirements.
Prepare equipment for testing, including filling, venting, pressurizing, and securing test areas.
Set up and operate hydrostatic test pumps, pressure gauges, hoses, valves, and related equipment.
Monitor and maintain test pressure for the required duration.
Inspect equipment for leaks, pressure loss, or other abnormalities during testing.
Safely depressurize, drain, and prepare equipment following completion of testing.
Accurately record test pressures, durations, results, and other required information.
Identify and report leaks, defects, or other issues to the appropriate supervisor or quality personnel.
Follow applicable ASME requirements , company procedures, and customer specifications.
Maintain proper test documentation and assist with quality control records as required.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and required PPE standards.
Perform other testing and fabrication-related duties as assigned. Qualifications – High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience performing hydrostatic testing in an industrial, manufacturing, or oil & gas environment preferred.
Familiarity with pressure vessels, piping, and process equipment.
Basic understanding of ASME Section VIII Division 1 requirements preferred.
Ability to read and understand drawings, test procedures, and equipment specifications.
Ability to safely operate hydrostatic test equipment, pumps, gauges, valves, and related tools.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
Ability to accurately document test results.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Must pass required drug screening and background check.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work in varying temperatures and industrial shop environments. Work Environment This position is performed primarily in an industrial shop environment where employees are exposed to noise, dust, fumes, paint vapors, and heavy equipment. Proper PPE is required at all times.
