The CWI will be responsible for inspecting welded piping and piping assemblies throughout the fabrication process to ensure work meets applicable ASME codes, project specifications, welding procedures, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong experience inspecting piping welds and working with

ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME

B31.5, and VT-II (Visual Testing

•Level II) requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform visual and quality inspections of piping welds, joints, and fabricated piping assemblies. Inspect piping fabrication and welding activities for compliance with applicable ASME codes, drawings, specifications, and WPS requirements.

ASME B31.3

•Process Piping

ASME B31.9

•Refrigeration Piping VT-II

•Visual Testing Level II Inspect pipe fit-up, alignment, joint preparation, welding, and completed welds. Verify welds meet applicable code, project, and quality requirements. Identify, document, and communicate weld defects and piping fabrication deficiencies. Review and verify WPSs, PQRs, welder qualifications, material certifications, and related quality documentation. Maintain accurate inspection reports and quality-control records. Work directly with pipe welders, fitters, shop supervisors, and quality personnel to address and resolve quality issues. Perform inspections throughout the piping fabrication process to help ensure quality is maintained before piping is released for installation. Support quality-control audits and other inspection activities as needed. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment. Required Qualifications Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification. Demonstrated experience inspecting piping welds and piping fabrication. Experience working with

ASME B31.1, ASME

B31.3, and

ASME B31.9. VT-II

qualification required. Ability to read and interpret piping drawings, isometric drawings, weld symbols, specifications, and applicable codes. Strong understanding of welding inspection and piping fabrication processes. Ability to identify weld discontinuities, defects, and code nonconformances. Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with welders, fitters, supervisors, and management. Preferred Experience Experience with commercial HVAC piping, mechanical piping, refrigeration piping, or industrial piping fabrication. Experience working in a piping fabrication shop. Knowledge of welding procedures and welder qualification requirements. Experience with quality-control inspection and documentation. Work Schedule Day Shift | Piping Fabrication Shop This is a shop-based position focused specifically on piping fabrication and welding inspection. The CWI will work closely with the piping fabrication team to ensure welded piping and assemblies meet applicable codes, specifications, and quality standards.
