NDT Inspector Drill Stem & BHA Components

Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented NDT Level II Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will perform high-volume, in-house quality and safety inspections on critical bottom hole assembly (BHA) and drill stem components, including Non-Magnetic Drill Collars (NMDCs), Steel X-Over subs, lift subs, and UBHO subs. You will ensure all assets meet strict customer specifications and industry safety guidelines before they are deployed to the field. What You Will Do Perform multi-method
NDT:
Execute Wet Fluorescent Magnetic Particle (WFMT), Fluorescent Liquid Penetrant (PT), Ultrasonic Thickness (UT), and Visual Testing (VT) on drill stem components.
Inspect to industry standards:
Apply DS-1 Volume 3 and
API RP 7G-2
inspection criteria strictly and accurately.
Conduct dimensional gauging:
Measure and verify rotary shouldered connections (RSCs), thread profiles, seals, and wear limits using lead gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
Document and report:
Generate precise digital inspection reports, log component serial numbers, and flag rejected assets in our facility's tracking system.
Safely handle materials:
Maneuver heavy components onto inspection bays using overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
Required Credentials & Qualifications Certifications:
Current, verifiable ASNT SNT-TC-1A or
ISO 9712
Level II certification in MT, PT, UT, and VT.
Standards experience:
Direct, hands-on experience inspecting to DS-1 Volume 3 standards (critical for BHA tools).
Medical compliance:
Ability to provide proof of a passed Jaeger-1 vision test and color contrast exam within the last 12 months.
Physical capability:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work standing in a shop environment.
Tech skills:
Must be computer literate for logging digital inspection data. Key Responsibilities Perform WFMT, Fluorescent PT, UT thickness, and VT on drill stem components Inspect strictly to DS-1 Volume 3 and

Dimensionally verify rotary shouldered connections, threads, seals, and wear limits Produce accurate digital inspection reports and maintain component tracking Safely handle heavy components using overhead cranes and material handling equipment Requirements Current ASNT SNT-TC-1A or
