Job Description

Design Engineer | PG&E | Substation Design | West Sacramento, Oakland and Fresno I'm currently supporting PG&E on several Design Engineer openings supporting critical electric utility infrastructure projects across Northern California. These positions offer the opportunity to work on projects that directly impact grid reliability, modernization, and long-term system growth. Why This Opportunity? Join one of the nation's largest utility providers Work on high-impact substation and grid modernization projects Multiple openings across California Long-term contract opportunities available (up to 3+ years) Competitive compensation based on experience level Immediate interview and start opportunities Locations Available Fresno (2 openings) West Sacramento (2 openings) Oakland (4 openings) What You'll Be Doing Design and develop electrical substation infrastructure and utility improvement projects Create engineering drawings and design packages using AutoCAD Support projects involving transformers, circuit breakers, protection & control systems, and substation equipment Perform engineering calculations, design reviews, and technical analysis Collaborate with engineering, construction, operations, and project management teams Support field assessments, construction activities, and project planning efforts Prepare technical reports, bills of materials, cost estimates, and project documentation Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, quality, and regulatory standards Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering 3+ years of substation design experience Utility industry experience Strong AutoCAD experience Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within project teams
