Job Description
About the Role We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems across our industrial and power generation operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong ABB product knowledge and a proven track record of resolving complex electrical faults in the field using root cause analysis. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in transformers, switchgear, protective relays, and motor control centers (MCC) Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on electrical failures and recommend corrective/preventive actions Commission new and upgraded low- and medium-voltage electrical equipment and substations Configure, test, and calibrate protective relays and ABB-brand electrical products Support installation, startup, and maintenance of electrical substations Read and interpret single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and electrical drawings Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and predictive diagnostics on electrical assets Ensure all work complies with
NEC, NFPA
70E, IEEE, and applicable safety and regulatory standards Prepare technical reports, RCA documentation, and commissioning records Coordinate with plant operations, project managers, and clients to schedule and execute electrical work with minimal downtime Provide technical support and mentorship to junior technicians as needed Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial or power generation electrical systems Demonstrated experience with ABB products (switchgear, relays, drives, or related equipment) Strong background in low- and medium-voltage systems (up to 35kV) Proven troubleshooting experience with transformers, switchgear, protective relays, and MCCs Practical experience applying root cause analysis methodologies (5-Whys, fishbone, fault tree, etc.) Experience with electrical substation commissioning and startup Ability to read electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and P&IDs Working knowledge of
NEC, NFPA
