$100,000 - $140,000 per year, based on experience Job Description We are hiring a licensed Professional Engineer to lead short circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash hazard studies for large healthcare facilities, primarily Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers. You will own studies from field data collection through sealed IEEE 1584-2018 and

compliant reports in SKM PowerTools, review the work of junior engineers, and serve as a technical point of contact for clients. This position may also support electrical design on multi-discipline building projects for government and commercial facilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead short circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash studies from scoping through final sealed report using SKM PowerTools
- Plan and lead field data collection at client facilities
- Evaluate equipment interrupting and withstand ratings, and selective coordination of emergency and essential electrical systems in accordance with the NEC
- Develop protective device setting recommendations and practical options to reduce incident energy
- Review, approve, and seal study reports and arc flash labels
- Perform QC reviews of models, calculations, and reports prepared by junior engineers, and mentor entry-level staff
- Meet with clients to confirm scope, present findings, and maintain positive client relationships
- Prepare electrical drawings and specifications for design projects as assigned
- Manage project budgets and schedules with limited direction
- Support proposals, scopes, fee estimates, and business development activities Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license, with the ability to obtain additional state licenses as projects require
- 5+ years of experience performing short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies
- Strong working knowledge of
IEEE 1584-2018, NFPA
70E, and the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Ability to travel for field work and to work safely around energized electrical equipment in accordance with
NFPA 70E
- Ability to obtain access to VA facilities, including completion of a federal background investigation Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing studies in SKM PowerTools (ETAP or EasyPower experience will be considered)
- Experience with hospital, healthcare, or federal facility electrical systems
- Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior engineers
- Experience preparing proposals and fee estimates
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit Compensation The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000 per year. Placement within the range depends on years of power systems study experience, healthcare and federal project experience, and the number of states in which the candidate holds an active PE license.
