3001578152-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Constellation Energy seeks a Senior Structural/Civil Engineer to join our Engineering & Design team in the Energy & Utilities sector. You will lead structural and civil design for energy infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include performing calculations, reviewing drawings, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting construction and maintenance activities. Responsibilities Lead structural and civil engineering design for energy and utility projects, including new facilities, retrofits, and infrastructure upgrades. Perform detailed structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, and foundation systems supporting generation, transmission, and other energy-related assets. Develop, review, and stamp (if licensed) engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs. Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers, as well as project managers, to integrate structural and civil solutions into multidisciplinary project designs. Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, including IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and utility/energy sector guidelines. Conduct site visits, field assessments, and structural inspections to support feasibility studies, construction activities, and condition assessments of existing assets. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior engineers, designers, and drafters within the Engineering & Design department. Support project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling by scoping civil/structural work, estimating engineering hours, and identifying technical risks and mitigations. Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and change orders, and provide timely technical responses to support safe and efficient construction. Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and best practices aligned with Constellation Energy's sustainability and innovation goals. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate complex engineering concepts clearly and support decision-making for energy infrastructure investments. Champion a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship in all engineering and design activities. Required Skills Structural analysis and design (steel, concrete, foundations, supports) Civil site design (grading, drainage, roadways, foundations interfaces) Finite element analysis (FEA) and structural modeling Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, or similar) Proficiency with CAD/BIM tools (Auto CAD, Revit, Civil 3 D or similar) Strong knowledge of building and structural codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI) Familiarity with utility, power plant, or industrial facility design standards Construction document preparation and review (plans, specs, calculations) Seismic and wind loading analysis for energy/utility structures Project engineering and coordination across disciplines (mechanical, electrical, controls) Technical report writing and documentation Risk assessment and structural integrity evaluations Field engineering, inspections, and constructability reviews Stakeholder communication and collaboration Data analysis and problem-solving in an engineering context
