Goodwin Recruiting seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead complex building and infrastructure projects within professional, scientific, and technical services. In this client-facing role, you'll own electrical system design from concept through construction documents, performing load calculations, equipment selection, and code analysis. You'll review drawings, coordinate with architectural and MEP teams, and ensure quality, on-time delivery. You'll mentor junior engineers, contribute to standards, and support business growth by providing technical expertise and building lasting client relationships. Responsibilities Lead electrical design for building and infrastructure projects from concept through construction documents Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and short-circuit and coordination studies Develop and review plans, one-lines, panel schedules, and specifications Ensure designs meet NEC, local codes, and client standards Coordinate with architects, mechanical, structural, and other stakeholders Provide quality control reviews on drawings and submittals Support field activities, RFIs, and construction-phase problem solving Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers Participate in client meetings and present technical solutions Contribute to standards, tools, and best practices to improve design efficiency Required Skills Electrical power distribution design Lighting and controls design Short-circuit and load calculations Auto CADRevit MEPNEC and local electrical codes Low-voltage and fire alarm systems Construction documents and specifications Project management Client communication
