Job Description

Position Overview The Low Voltage Power Distribution Designer is responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing aerial and underground power distribution systems from the substation level down to end-use customers. This role bridges utility engineering with practical, reliable energy delivery, ensuring that distribution infrastructure is safe, efficient, and compliant. This position combines technical engineering standards with field data interpretation to execute equipment/pole replacements, system reconductoring, and new infrastructure builds for both residential and commercial customer connections.
Hours:
7am-3pm OR 8am-4pm
Compensation Data Hourly Rate:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour (commensurate with experience and qualifications).
Job Duties What You Will Do Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other staff and clients to meet all workflow requirements, maintaining a high level of professionalism. Accurately identify power pole equipment and structures. Apply engineering construction standards to aerial and underground pole design across low voltage design disciplines, including but not limited to equipment/pole replacements, infrastructure maintenance, new infrastructure builds, and reconductoring. Interpret data across multiple platforms of communication. Routinely meet, plan, and execute any outlined production requirements, timelines, or other goals. Use a variety of software both efficiently and proficiently for general workflow, reporting, timekeeping, tracking, etc. Qualifications A bachelor's degree or higher is required. Related engineering discipline is preferred. Experience with power distribution engineering is preferred. Knowledge of geographic or modeling software, including but not limited to AutoCAD/ARCGIS, Katapult, O-Calc, OMS, and/or SpidaCalc, is a plus. Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be comfortable speaking with multiple levels of management. Ability to comply with governing authorities and their requirements, negotiate with private landowners, and provide communication, instruction, and guidance as needed to contractors.
Pay:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour
