Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Product Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Union City, CA within the electronics, components, and semiconductor manufacturing industry. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who enjoys improving production processes, supporting product launches, building test solutions, and working closely with cross-functional manufacturing teams. The Product Engineer will help strengthen production quality, efficiency, documentation, and readiness for Pilot and Mass Production phases. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative engineering and manufacturing environment with supportive leadership, hands-on technical challenges, and exposure to process improvement, test automation, engineering changes, and new product configurations. Key Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and update SOPs, work instructions, QC checklists, and production documentation for Pilot and Mass Production.
  • Analyze production test logs, procedures, and results to identify improvements in quality, yield, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Support engineering changes, including ECNs and ECOs, while coordinating with production schedules, training needs, and labor standards.
  • Build, modify, and maintain test automation tools, scripts, and fixtures to support production testing and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and document Proof of Concept product builds for customer-specific configurations, sales support, and new product readiness.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Engineering teams to support smooth production execution. Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $90,000 to $125,000 per year.

    Union City, CA. Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Support implementation of new production processes, SOPs, engineering changes, and product configurations.
  • Analyze production test performance and recommend improvements to quality, yield, and efficiency.
  • Build and maintain production test tools, automation scripts, fixtures, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Train production and cross-functional teams on updated procedures, tools, and process changes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Electronic, or Computing Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience, with experience in production engineering, manufacturing engineering, product engineering, or a related role.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware specifications, system-level components, production methods, and manufacturing processes.
  • Required knowledge of Linux-based platforms and working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, QC checklists, and technical production documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate engineering changes, POC activities, training, and production execution.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail in documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and process execution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with test automation, scripting, and production testing.
  • Knowledge of MES systems.
  • Experience with repair processes and technical troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting Pilot Production, Mass Production, ECNs, ECOs, or new product introduction activities.
  • Hands-on experience validating manufacturability, test coverage, and production readiness for new configurations.
