Position Summary W. R. Long is seeking a Product Development Engineer who enjoys taking products from concept to production and solving real-world problems for customers. Approximately half of your time will be spent designing and improving products in the engineering office, and the other half will be spent in the field working with dealers, tractor owners, manufacturing personnel, and the sales team to identify opportunities, solve problems, validate fitment, and develop innovative products. Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and enhancement of new and existing products.
• Design Live Third Function Valve Kits, Rear Remote Kits, Top and Tilt Kits, grapples, and related tractor accessories.
• Design hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems that integrate with a wide variety of tractor makes and models.
• Serve as the company's R&D leader by identifying new product opportunities and product enhancements.
• Create and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and manufacturing documentation.
• Redesign existing products to improve quality, manufacturability, installation, cost, and performance.
• Partner with production to reduce manufacturing costs and improve efficiency.
• Recommend new equipment and prepare return on investment analyses.
• Work with purchasing to identify and qualify suppliers.
• Visit dealers and customers to measure tractors, validate product fitment, troubleshoot, and develop new products.
• Become the technical expert on the W. R. Long product line.
• Train employees and support customer service and sales with technical expertise.
• Represent W. R. Long at dealer visits and trade shows.
• Handle technical calls with dealerships and end users regarding design issues. Other Responsibilities
• Research competitive products and industry trends.
• Develop KPIs for engineering and product development.
• Maintain an owner mindset and assist wherever needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay:

From $65,000.00 per year
