Direct Hire | Full-time About the OpportunityThe Product Engineer plays a key role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of products from concept through product launch and field support. Working collaboratively with international engineering design teams, production, purchasing and service, this position drives product innovation, resolves technical challenges, and improves product performance, quality and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Product Design & DevelopmentDrive the continuous improvement of existing products through design modifications, engineering analysis, and product validation.
Collaborate with international engineering teams to develop new products and components through:
Concept development and designPrototype evaluationDesign validationProduction testing and implementationSupport engineering drawing revisions, bill of materials, and technical documentationCoordinate engineering activities across functions.
Partner with Purchasing to develop technical specifications, evaluate suppliers, and support sourcing activities.
Partner with Design Engineering, Production Engineering and Operations to investigate and resolve product quality issues.
Assist Service with field issue troubleshooting and repair guidance.
Engineering Change ManagementCoordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) with Operations and Purchasing.
Update engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
Ensure engineering changes are reviewed, communicated, and implemented throughout the organization.
Quality & Continuous ImprovementInvestigate product quality and reliability issues using structured root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Identify and implement opportunities to improve product performance, manufacturability, quality, and cost competitiveness.
Engineering Project SupportSupport facility design and improvement projects including cranes, vehicle lifting systems, and structural modifications.
Ensure engineering solutions comply with applicable safety, operational, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with Production Engineering and Operations on facility-related engineering initiatives as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.5+ years of product engineering or mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment, servicing of chassis mounted bodies, construction, or AG equipmentProficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
Experience managing engineering changes (ECNs), bill of materials (BOMs), ERP systems, engineering document control and configuration management.
Strong mechanical design, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
Hands-on approach with the ability to work effectively in both office and manufacturing environmentsAbility to influence cross-functional teams and mentor staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing heavy equipment, mobile machinery, agricultural, construction, or industrial equipment.
Familiarity with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)Experience with FEA or engineering analysis tools.
