Overview We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Product Engineer to join our engineering team. . In this role you will be responsible for filter system design, production, schedule, and cost management, while working closely with all company departments, material suppliers, outside contractors, and the customer.
Essential Functions:
- Manage engineering projects from order handoff through fabrication, testing, shipment, installation, and start-up.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using project management software and proactively communicate schedule risks and required actions.
- Review and coordinate 2D/3D CAD drawings and approval drawings to ensure compliance with customer specifications, project requirements, and company standards. Make or coordinate drawing modifications as required.
- Support pre-sales activities through the review and development of preliminary layouts, drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Review customer specifications and communicate technical and commercial requirements to engineering, operations, purchasing, and other relevant departments.
- Source materials and equipment from suppliers, obtain pricing, and coordinate technical requirements with vendors.
- Manage project budgets and monitor costs throughout execution to ensure projects remain at or below budget.
- Develop and review bills of materials and ensure accurate entry into the ERP system.
- Review engineering deliverables, including drawings, bills of materials, instrument lists, P&IDs, piping packages, electrical drawings, and control documentation for compliance with company standards and customer specifications.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of project scope, specifications, schedule, budget, technical requirements, and open items throughout project execution.
- Coordinate engineering and project requirements with fabrication subcontractors, equipment suppliers, and control-system vendors.
- Coordinate factory acceptance testing (FAT), system checkout, installation, commissioning, and start-up activities at vendor and customer facilities.
- Work with PLC and controls vendors during system checkout and commissioning. Review control logic and coordinate basic PLC/HMI programming modifications in the field when required.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with customers regarding technical matters, project developments, schedule, and outstanding items.
- Ensure operating and maintenance manuals are complete, technically accurate, and professionally prepared.
- Coordinate shipping information and documentation in accordance with company export policies and applicable government regulations.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally on a regular basis, approximately monthly, for vendor coordination, customer meetings, factory acceptance testing, system checkout, commissioning, and start-up.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred. 3+ years of experience in engineering project management, preferably involving engineered equipment or process systems. Knowledge of process filtration, water treatment, or related industrial equipment and systems preferred. Familiarity with process controls and instrumentation, pressure-vessel fabrication, hydraulics, pumps, valves, and piping systems. Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software, with the ability to review engineering drawings and make basic modifications when required. AutoCAD experience preferred. Basic knowledge of PLC and HMI systems, including the ability to understand control logic, troubleshoot basic issues, and coordinate programming changes with controls vendors. Experience with common industrial PLC platforms is preferred. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Project or similar project management software. Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Self-starter with strong organizational, communication, and project ownership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, vendors, and deadlines simultaneously.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
