Job Description
The Product Development Engineer serves as the subject matter expert in the design, quality and manufacturing of the caps for the CCL Tube Division.
Job Duties:
Service as the Subject Matter Expert in the Cap Project for the Canton manufacturing facility
Provide overall oversight and support of cap design activities, ensuring product performance, manufacturability, and compliance with customer requirements.
Review and evaluate 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for accuracy, functionality, and adherence to design standards.
Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in product design, quality, and production processes.
Recommend design enhancements to improve product quality, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
Support design validation, problem-solving, and corrective action activities related to cap design and performance.
Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.
Travel as needed
Education:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline
Experience:
10+ years of experience in product development, preferably within the cosmetics, beauty, or consumer packaging industry
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of cosmetic and beauty packaging components, with specific expertise in cap and closure design
Proven experience managing products through the full development lifecycle, from concept through commercialization
Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and product performance requirements for cosmetic packaging
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, and Customers
Experience with injection-molded plastic components and closure systems
Proficiency in CAD software and engineering drawing interpretation
Familiarity with quality systems, design reviews, and continuous improvement methodologies
