Up to $90,000 depending on experience An opportunity has arisen for a Product Engineer to join an established engineering and manufacturing business in Spartanburg, SC. This role will suit a hands-on engineer with experience developing products from initial concept through to design, testing and production. Working with a range of metal and plastic components, you will help turn ideas into practical, manufacturable products while working closely with engineering, manufacturing and external suppliers. The business combines in-house manufacturing capabilities with an international supply chain, offering exposure to a varied range of products, materials and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities include:

Develop and improve products from initial concept through to production. Create and modify 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation. Design components and assemblies using a range of metal and plastic materials. Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and suitable for production. Support prototyping, product testing, validation and design improvements. Liaise with external suppliers and manufacturing partners to support product development and production. Review product performance, identify design improvements and resolve technical issues. Work with internal teams to ensure products meet quality, performance and customer requirements.

Skills and experience:

Experience in product engineering, mechanical engineering or product development. Strong 3D CAD modelling and engineering drawing skills. Experience designing mechanical components or assemblies. Knowledge of metal and/or plastic materials and manufacturing processes. An understanding of design for manufacture and assembly. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take a product from concept through to production. Good communication skills and the ability to work with internal teams and external suppliers. A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related discipline would be beneficial, alongside relevant practical industry experience.
