Position Summary The Product Development Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, engineering, prototyping, validation, and launch of new products across multiple engineering disciplines. This role provides flexible engineering support throughout the product development process and serves as a versatile technical resource capable of contributing wherever additional engineering expertise is needed. Working closely with Naval Architects, Mechanical Systems Engineers, Electrical Systems Engineers, Product Reliability & Integration, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, Product Strategy, and Purchasing, the Product Development Engineer helps transform product concepts into production-ready solutions while balancing innovation, manufacturability, quality, cost, and customer experience. Key Responsibilities
  • Support new product development from concept through production.
  • Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and release documentation.
  • Design components and assemblies using sound engineering principles.
  • Support platform development and continuous product improvement.
  • Assist Naval Architecture, Mechanical Systems, and Electrical Systems teams with engineering activities.
  • Perform engineering calculations and basic analysis.
  • Participate in design reviews and cross-functional problem solving.
  • Develop engineering specifications and technical documentation.
  • Support prototype fabrication and assembly.
  • Evaluate prototype fit, function, and manufacturability.
  • Participate in on-water testing.
  • Document findings and recommend design improvements.
  • Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Collaborate with suppliers on component development and technical issues.
  • Support supplier validation and product launches.
  • Support warranty investigations and corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality, reduce cost, and simplify manufacturing.
  • Contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
  • Assist in New component development and execution.
  • Assist in New systems development and execution. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of product development experience.
  • Proficiency with Rhino, SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Marine industry experience a plus
  • Wake or towboat experience a plus
