Position Summary The RF Digital Circuit Engineer supports the design, development, integration, testing, troubleshooting, modification, and sustainment of complex electronic systems and subsystems. This position requires hands-on experience with radio frequency (RF) systems, digital circuitry, embedded electronics, and laboratory test equipment. The successful candidate will analyze system and circuit performance, diagnose hardware issues, develop technical solutions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and technical teams. This role supports new system development, prototype integration, production activities, laboratory testing, engineering change implementation, and lifecycle sustainment efforts. The engineer will perform technical analyses, support system troubleshooting activities, evaluate hardware performance, conduct root-cause investigations, and provide engineering recommendations to ensure mission success and system reliability. This position requires on-site support and may require periodic support during second-shift operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Circuit Design and Analysis Design, analyze, test, and troubleshoot RF, analog, mixed-signal, and digital electronic circuits and subsystems. Develop and evaluate circuit designs, schematics, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation. Review electronic designs for compliance with technical requirements, performance objectives, and industry standards. Support hardware development, prototype design, and engineering change activities. RF System Engineering Analyze RF system performance characteristics, including: Frequency response Gain and attenuation Signal integrity Noise figure Power output Impedance matching Filtering Modulation and demodulation Evaluate RF communication systems, transmitters, receivers, amplifiers, antennas, filters, and associated subsystems. Investigate RF performance issues and recommend corrective actions. Digital Circuit Engineering Evaluate and troubleshoot digital electronic circuits and embedded systems.
Support development and testing of:
Microprocessors Microcontrollers FPGA-based systems Memory devices High-speed digital interfaces Communication buses and protocols Analyze digital timing, signal integrity, data flow, and hardware performance issues. Testing and Integration Perform laboratory testing and system-level integration activities.
Operate and interpret data from:
Oscilloscopes Spectrum analyzers Network analyzers Signal generators Logic analyzers Power meters Electronic test equipment Develop test plans, test procedures, acceptance criteria, and verification methods. Support qualification testing, environmental testing, acceptance testing, and production testing efforts. Troubleshooting and Failure Analysis Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electronic hardware failures at the circuit card, assembly, subsystem, and system levels. Conduct root-cause investigations and failure analyses. Develop corrective actions and recommend design improvements. Support repair, rework, and sustainment activities for fielded systems. Technical Documentation and Reviews Review technical drawings, specifications, interface-control documents, and system requirements. Prepare engineering analyses, reports, test results, technical recommendations, and design documentation. Support technical reviews, design reviews, customer meetings, and program status discussions. Maintain compliance with engineering documentation and configuration-management requirements. Team Collaboration and Technical Leadership Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical, manufacturing, test, logistics, and configuration-management personnel. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering technicians and junior engineers. Participate in cross-functional problem-solving and engineering decision-making activities. Support customer interactions and technical presentations as required. Quality, Safety, and Compliance Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable quality, safety, cybersecurity, and configuration-management requirements. Support continuous process-improvement initiatives and engineering best practices. Maintain compliance with government, customer, and company policies and procedures. Required Education Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline. Required Experience Minimum three (3) years of professional experience designing, testing, integrating, or troubleshooting electronic hardware systems. Hands-on experience with RF and digital circuit analysis and troubleshooting.

Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex circuit-level and system-level hardware problems. Strong analytical, technical writing, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team. Preferred Qualifications Active Secret Security Clearance. Experience supporting Department of Defense or Navy electronic systems. Experience with FPGA development environments and embedded hardware platforms. Familiarity with military communications, EW, radar, or sensor systems. Experience supporting design reviews, production testing, and lifecycle sustainment programs. Experience with configuration management processes and engineering change implementation. Practical knowledge of cybersecurity requirements applicable to electronic systems. Experience working in laboratory, production, or depot-level maintenance environments. Security Clearance Requirement Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Active Secret clearance preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to work in laboratory, manufacturing, and engineering environments. Ability to frequently sit, stand, and utilize electronic test equipment for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment weighing up to 30 pounds. Ability to distinguish wire colors, electronic components, and technical indicators during troubleshooting and testing activities.
