10/4 Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Compressor Mechanic to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting gas compression equipment and heavy machinery used in petrochemical and natural gas operations. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of compressor systems, supporting our commitment to safety and operational excellence. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on CAT 3500 and 3600 units and associated equipment Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using tools such as hand tools, electrical diagnostics devices, and engineering troubleshooting techniques Operate heavy equipment safely during maintenance activities, including natural gas compression systems and pipeline components Utilize supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and distributed control systems (DCS) to monitor equipment performance and identify issues Follow process safety management (PSM) protocols to ensure compliance with safety standards during all maintenance tasks Respond promptly to emergency situations with preparedness for emergency response protocols and outdoor work conditions Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and operational logs for compliance and continuous improvement Requirements Proven experience in equipment repair within oil & gas or petrochemical environments, with a focus on compressor systems Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by skills in electrical diagnostics and engineering troubleshooting Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), SCADA systems, and process safety management (PSM) practices Ability to perform heavy lifting, operate heavy equipment safely, and work outdoors in various weather conditions Excellent basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during maintenance procedures Valid experience with pipeline operations, natural gas compression systems, and outdoor work environments Commitment to safety protocol adherence, emergency response readiness, and continuous learning in technical skills Flexibility for on-call coverage to support 24/7 operations when needed Join our team to be part of a forward-thinking organization dedicated to safety excellence, technical mastery, and career development in the oil & gas industry!

Pay:

$35.00 - $45.00 per hour Application Question(s): Do you have at least 3 years of hands-on experience performing maintenance and repairs on CAT 3500 and/or

CAT 3600

natural gas compressor engines? Have you independently diagnosed and repaired mechanical or electrical issues on natural gas compression equipment in the oil & gas industry? Are you willing and able to work a 10-on/4-off schedule in Jal, NM, including on-call rotations and outdoor work in all weather conditions? Which CAT compressor engines have you performed maintenance on?
