full-time Code19 Autonomy develops high-performance autonomous systems for defense and national security applications. With a heritage in autonomous racing , our technology is built on experience operating autonomous vehicles in environments where speed, precision, and real-time decision-making matter. We are now applying that high-dynamic autonomy expertise to drones, counter-UAS, and other unmanned systems. Our flagship platform, Maveric AI, is an autonomy stack designed for high-dynamic, edge-based operations. We are building systems that can perceive, predict, plan, and control in real time, pushing unmanned aircraft closer to the performance limits of the airframe. We're a small, highly technical team working across robotics, controls, simulation, AI, and real-world flight testing. If you want to build autonomy in simulation and then see it tested on actual aircraft, this is that kind of role. The Role We are looking for a Robotics Simulation Engineer to help build the simulation infrastructure behind our autonomous systems. You will develop physics-based environments used to design, test, and validate autonomy for high-speed unmanned aircraft and defense robotics. Your work will directly support perception, planning, controls, and vehicle dynamics development, with a strong emphasis on closing the gap between simulation and real-world flight performance. This is a remote contract role with the opportunity to contribute directly to flight testing and rapidly evolving defense autonomy programs. What you will be doing Build and maintain 3D simulation environments for autonomous drones and high-performance unmanned systems. Develop vehicle dynamics, terrain, sensor models, digital twins, and synthetic-data pipelines. Integrate perception, planning, estimation, and controls into simulation and

workflows. Improve simulation fidelity using real-world flight-test data. Build automated scenarios and analysis tools for autonomy validation. Work directly with autonomy and controls engineers to accelerate development and troubleshoot real-world behavior. What we are looking for Degree in computer science, robotics, engineering, math, physics, or equivalent experience. Strong C++ and/or Python software engineering skills. Experience with robotics, autonomous systems, simulation, physics engines, or 3D/game-engine development. Familiarity with platforms such as Isaac Sim, Omniverse, Unreal, Unity, Gazebo, AirSim, CARLA, or similar . Experience developing in Linux environments. Working knowledge of robotics fundamentals such as sensors, state estimation, vehicle dynamics, controls, or motion planning. How To Stand Out Experience with autonomous drones, UAS, robotics, or other autonomous vehicles . Experience with
SITL/HITL, PX4, ROS/ROS
2, ArduPilot, or MAVLink . Experience modeling sensors or validating simulation against real-world telemetry and flight-test data. Knowledge of flight dynamics, trajectory optimization, MPC, perception, or state estimation. Experience with NVIDIA GPUs, Isaac Sim, Omniverse, synthetic data, or large-scale simulation.
