Summary The Planning Senior Engineer will support the Production Engineering Paint Department in planning, developing, and implementing automation, robotics, equipment expansion, refurbishment, and new vehicle projects. This role will focus on equipment planning, process and layout design, specification development, standardization, project management, and equipment lifecycle management across North American manufacturing facilities. Key Responsibilities Evaluate equipment project proposals, process capabilities, and equipment requirements. Plan automation, robotics, and equipment expansion projects for new vehicle programs and facility upgrades. Develop equipment layouts, specifications, standards, and implementation strategies. Lead equipment deployment and standardization initiatives across North American plants. Develop and improve equipment specifications while ensuring CoHE compliance and standardization. Lead equipment specification and development processes from concept through implementation. Prepare project presentations, status reports, KPIs, A3s, and Ringi documents for equipment procurement. Identify project constraints and develop effective engineering countermeasures. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, suppliers, and cross-functional teams. Support new model introduction, equipment refurbishment, maintenance, and lifecycle management. Evaluate automation, robotics, conveyors, vision systems, and paint shop technologies. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent engineering/technical experience. 2+ years of project management experience. Experience with CAD or similar engineering/modeling software. Experience developing equipment specifications, standards, and engineering requirements. Experience creating A3 and/or Ringi documents for equipment procurement. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications PLC programming and industrial automation experience. Robot programming experience. Conveyor system experience and knowledge. MSRC and/or Machine Risk Analysis experience. Experience with new model introduction processes. Experience with paint shop equipment, including booths, ovens, abatement systems, air houses, and enclosures. Equipment maintenance experience. Vision system evaluation, programming, and application experience. Bilingual English/Spanish/Japanese skills.
Pay:
$55.00 - $65.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
