1+ year of experience in the automotive manufacturing field on robotic solution development, deployment, and refinement, especially in robotics or perception systems 1+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, robotics, machine vision, perception models, and controls Experience deploying solutions to the production plants Proficiency in Fanuc and UR robot programming, Python/C++, PyTorch, and TensorFlow Experience with Robotic data pipelines

Day:
Insight Global is looking for a Perception Engineer in the Warren, Michigan area. The engineer will be responsible to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced robotic vision and manipulation technologies that bring intelligence and adaptability to robots for diverse automotive manufacturing applications. In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge perception and sensor systems along with intelligent planning and control algorithms to enable next-generation automation in the manufacturing ecosystem. The engineer will architect, develop, and implement advanced perception, manipulation planning and control systems, mentor and guide junior scientists and engineers, foster technical excellence and innovation, drive strategic initiatives that push the boundaries of robotic autonomy. The Perception Engineer will work closely with the production teams to deliver cutting-edge robotics technology.
Additional Responsibilities:
Architect scalable perception, manipulation planning, and control systems, ensuring robustness, efficiency, and real-world applicability Drive hands-on experimentation and refinement, validating technologies in simulation and on physical embodiments across diverse tasks Mentor and guide cross-functional teams, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing across manufacturing engineering Shape technical strategy, identifying emerging trends and translating them into actionable R D initiatives Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop technologies into production-grade robotic systems Document, publish and patent breakthrough research, contributing to intellectual property and academic presence $34/hr to $39/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment.
