This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong background in PLC programming, robotics, controls, and manufacturing automation. You'll develop and improve automation systems, support new equipment implementation, troubleshoot production issues, and lead process improvements that increase equipment reliability, quality, and efficiency. Responsibilities Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and machine control programming. Program, set up, and support robotic applications in a manufacturing environment. Support the implementation, installation, and validation of new automated equipment. Troubleshoot recurring controls, electrical, and automation issues using root cause analysis. Develop standardized code and automation strategies to improve equipment reliability. Manage multiple automation and equipment improvement projects from concept through implementation. Perform feasibility, cost-benefit, and ROI analyses for proposed automation solutions. Support manufacturing systems, vision systems, barcode scanners, servo controllers, and digital/analog signals. Create and update electrical schematics and automation standards. Train and support technicians in equipment programming and troubleshooting. Partner with cross-functional teams to complete projects on time and within budget. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Work overtime as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred:
Automation Engineering or a related engineering field. Experience with PLC programming and Ladder Logic, preferably Allen-Bradley and General Electric systems. Experience with robotic setup, programming, applications, and manipulation. Knowledge of industrial control networks, including EtherNet/IP and DeviceNet. Familiarity with electrical and controls technology in manufacturing or production environments. Experience with vision systems, barcode scanning systems, servo controllers, and servo systems. Understanding of analog and digital signals. Strong automation troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read, create, and update electrical schematics. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Positive, professional attitude with a strong focus on safety and quality.
