The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and committed to high-quality work performance. Must have excellent planning, organization, and communication skills, and can work well with other staff in a project team environment. The Survey Technician will be collecting data utilizing common surveying equipment and will be essential functions listed below.
Responsibilities will include:
Perform manual labor such as bending, digging with a hand shovel, cutting brush for lines, carrying equipment, stakes, rebar and other items that may be heavy (between 5 and up to 50 lbs.) daily Set up, adjust and operate surveying equipment and instruments Maintain equipment and vehicles Assist in conducting surveys to determine location of natural features and man-made structures on the surface, underground and underwater Collect field data using common surveying equipment to report information back to surveyors and other LRE professionals Measure, record and calculate data based on instrument readings Lay out, locate and recover markings, stakes, and other such signifiers at work locations Help create drawings and computer images of job locations Collect information needed to carry out new surveys using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records and other relevant information
Requirements:
