Job Description JENNMAR Services, a staffing company specializing in employee placement for the energy industry, is currently seeking a Rodman Surveyor for West Elk Mine in Somerset, Colorado. This is a full-time position offering competitive salary and benefits. Basic Job Duties for
Rodman Surveyor:
Assist the Surveyor with underground and surface surveying operations. Carry, set up, and maintain surveying equipment including total stations, prisms, tripods, laser levels, and other field instruments. Hold target rods and prism poles at designated locations to ensure accurate survey measurements. Drill and install mechanical survey plugs (spads) in underground mine roofs to establish permanent survey control points. Prepare work areas by clearing debris or obstructions to maintain clear lines of sight for surveying equipment. Clean, inspect, calibrate, and properly store surveying equipment after use. Maintain inventory of survey supplies including paint, flagging ribbon, expansion plugs, and other field materials. Assist with recording field measurements and documentation as directed by the Surveyor. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements for
Rodman Surveyor:
High school diploma or GED preferred. No previous surveying experience required; on-the-job training will be provided. Ability to follow detailed verbal instructions and work as part of a team. Ability to accurately record field notes and measurements. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Valid driver s license. Ability and willingness to work underground and on the surface in varying weather and environmental conditions. Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check. Physical Requirements for
Rodman Surveyor:
Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts. Ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain and underground mine conditions. Ability to work in confined spaces and low-clearance areas. Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, climb, and work in physically demanding environments. Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
