As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Florida Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) who is ready to take ownership of projects, lead survey operations, and remain actively involved in the technical production and drafting of surveys. Candidates currently located in Florida are strongly preferred. About the Role The Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) will be responsible for managing surveying projects from initial research and field coordination through CAD production, final review, certification, and delivery. This is a hands-on technical position . The successful candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and capable of personally preparing, drafting, designing, and revising survey drawings and deliverables, in addition to reviewing and signing/sealing survey work. The ideal candidate will have significant Florida surveying experience and a strong understanding of boundary law, legal descriptions, public records research, field procedures, survey calculations, CAD production, and applicable Florida surveying standards. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, as-built, construction, right-of-way, subdivision, specific purpose, and other land surveying projects. Personally draft, design, and prepare survey drawings, plats, exhibits, sketches, legal descriptions, and other survey deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Convert field data, research, deeds, plats, title information, and survey calculations into accurate and complete CAD survey drawings. Perform survey computations, boundary calculations, closures, adjustments, and other technical calculations necessary for survey preparation. Revise and update CAD drawings based on field findings, client comments, title information, agency requirements, and internal quality-control review. Perform and/or oversee boundary analysis, deed and plat research, easement research, right-of-way determination, legal description review, and resolution of boundary discrepancies. Review deeds, plats, title commitments, easements, right-of-way maps, certified corner records, government land office information, and other public records necessary to support survey projects. Plan and coordinate survey field activities, including preparation of field packages and instructions for survey crews. Review and evaluate field data collected using GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, conventional surveying equipment, and other survey technologies. Process and interpret survey data for use in CAD drawings, engineering design, construction, and permitting. Provide technical direction and support to survey field crews, CAD technicians, survey coordinators, and other project staff. Review survey calculations, boundary resolutions, field notes, CAD drawings, plats, legal descriptions, sketches, exhibits, and other survey deliverables for accuracy and completeness. Prepare, review, sign, and seal surveys and related documents in accordance with applicable Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, Standards of Practice, and professional surveying requirements. Establish and maintain appropriate horizontal and vertical control and coordinate systems for surveying and engineering projects. Coordinate with engineers, planners, project managers, attorneys, title companies, government agencies, contractors, developers, property owners, and other project stakeholders. Assist with the preparation of survey proposals, project scopes, schedules, budgets, and estimates. Monitor project schedules, priorities, and deliverables to ensure surveying projects are completed accurately and efficiently. Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of survey work prior to final delivery. Research and interpret applicable county, municipal, state, FDOT, water management district, and other agency requirements affecting surveying projects. Prepare and review legal descriptions and sketches for easements, rights-of-way, parcels, acquisitions, dedications, and other real property interests. Support engineering and land development projects by providing accurate survey information necessary for design, permitting, construction, and project close-out. Attend client meetings, agency meetings, pre-construction meetings, and site visits when required. Assist in establishing and maintaining company survey standards, procedures, CAD standards, documentation practices, and quality-control processes. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior survey staff and field personnel. What We're Looking For Current Florida Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) license in good standing is required. Minimum of five (5) years of professional land surveying experience preferred, with significant experience performing surveying work in the State of Florida. Candidates currently located in Florida and familiar with Florida surveying practices, agencies, counties, and public-record systems are strongly preferred. Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required. Must be capable of independently drafting and producing complete survey drawings from field data and research through final deliverable. Strong knowledge of CAD standards, layer management, annotations, linework, surfaces, coordinate systems, survey databases, and preparation of professional survey exhibits. Strong knowledge of Florida boundary law, surveying principles, legal descriptions, easements, rights-of-way, and property records. Thorough understanding of applicable Florida surveying Standards of Practice and professional requirements. Experience with boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, as-built, construction, subdivision, right-of-way, and land development surveying. Ability to independently analyze complex deeds, plats, legal descriptions, title documents, easements, and field evidence. Experience with GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and modern survey equipment. Familiarity with GIS and Florida public-record resources, including county property appraiser systems, clerk records, LABINS, FDOT resources, plats, certified corner records, and other governmental databases. Strong project-management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, attorneys, title professionals, engineers, field crews, and internal project teams. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites, courthouses, government agencies, and meetings as required. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Surveying and Mapping, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Experience supervising or managing survey crews and survey-office personnel. Experience preparing and reviewing survey proposals, budgets, scopes, and project schedules. Experience supporting civil engineering, site development, subdivision, roadway, municipal, and construction projects. Knowledge of Florida's Public Land Survey System and experience with sectional and government lot retracement. Familiarity with FDOT surveying requirements, certified corner records, control networks, and right-of-way mapping. Experience working directly with title companies, attorneys, developers, municipalities, counties, and state agencies. Experience developing or implementing survey QA/QC procedures and internal standards.

Compensation Salary Range:

$90,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Compensation may vary based on years of Florida surveying experience, AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency, project-management capabilities, technical expertise, leadership experience, and overall qualifications.
