Professional Land Surveyor (PLS or Willing to get Illinois License)
Salary:
$85,000 - $120,000 per year

Illinois (Additional office locations may be considered) About the Role Are you a licensed Professional Land Surveyor looking to lead high-impact infrastructure projects while mentoring the next generation of survey professionals? We are partnering with an industry-leading engineering and infrastructure firm seeking a driven Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to provide technical leadership and surveying expertise for critical utility, transportation, and development projects. In this role, you will combine strong technical mastery with a passion for client service, helping expand our client's surveying footprint throughout Illinois and Missouri. While there are no direct report requirements right now, this position offers incredible growth potential based on your individual performance and ambitions.
Key Duties & Responsibilities Project Leadership:
Oversee boundary, topographic, construction, easement, and right-of-way surveys for utility, transportation, and infrastructure projects.
Technical Excellence:
Review, certify, and seal survey plats, legal descriptions, exhibits, and deliverables.
Collaboration & Mentorship:
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to survey technicians, field crews, and emerging professionals. Partner closely with engineering, GIS, and project management teams.
Client Relations:
Foster strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal stakeholders while representing our core values.
Requirements & Qualifications Licensure:
Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Illinois (willingness to obtain additional state licensure is a plus).
Experience:
Background supporting utility, transportation, DOT, municipal, or infrastructure projects.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of boundary, right-of-way, easement, and construction surveying practices. Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, robotic total stations, and modern survey technologies preferred.
Driver's License:
