Job Description

Role DescriptionThe Registered Professional Land Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in Whitestown, IN. This role is responsible for planning and performing boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Day-to-day tasks include organizing survey crews, operating and overseeing total stations and related field equipment, reviewing field notes and digital data, and preparing survey plats, legal descriptions, and reports. The role collaborates closely with civil engineers and planners to support site design, permitting, and land development projects, and provides technical guidance on property boundaries and easements. The surveyor will also verify measurements, perform quality checks on deliverables, and maintain clear communication with project managers, clients, and public agencies.

Responsible for quality control procedures and practices for surveys and related documents.relays department concerns and needs to the team including project managers, survey crew, and administrative staff.

Assist in management, planning, development, and marketing services.

Assist in preparation of proposals, contacts, budgets, and scheduling.

Monitor surveying changes that occur before and during the project.

Review and certify drawings, design ALTA surveys, construction staking, topography, and boundary surveys.

QualificationsDemonstrated expertise in Land Surveying and Surveying for boundary, topographic, and construction layout projects.

Proficiency in Topographic Surveys and Building Surveying for residential, commercial, and public works sites.

Hands-on experience with Total Station instruments and other modern survey equipment and data collectors.

Current Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) or Professional Surveyor license in Indiana, or ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame.

Strong skills in survey data processing, CAD software, and preparing plats, legal descriptions, and survey reports.

Knowledge of state and local land use regulations, subdivision standards, and
ALTA/NSPS
requirements.

Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project teams, clients, and public agencies.

Ability to work safely in the field, manage multiple projects, and adapt to varying site and weather conditions.

Associate or bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
