Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Surveyor to join our team and play a vital role in the successful execution of construction projects. As a Construction Surveyor, you will be responsible for accurately measuring, mapping, and analyzing land and construction sites to ensure projects are built according to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Your expertise in land surveying techniques, CAD software, and civil engineering principles will be essential in providing precise data that guides construction activities from start to finish. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects while utilizing cutting-edge surveying technology. Responsibilities Conduct land surveys using GPS, total stations, 3D scanners, and other advanced surveying equipment to gather precise spatial data. Interpret and apply technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and Carlson software to develop accurate site layouts. Perform topographic surveys, ALTA surveys (American Land Title Association), and boundary surveys to establish property lines and easements. Collect and analyze data related to terrain, elevations, and existing structures to support civil engineering designs and construction planning. Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools such as ArcGIS for mapping and spatial analysis of project sites. Ensure survey data aligns with project specifications by verifying measurements through field checks and adjusting plans accordingly. Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, contractors, and project managers to provide survey insights that influence construction sequencing and safety protocols. Maintain detailed records of survey activities, field notes, sketches, and digital data for project documentation and compliance purposes. Operate Trimble, MicroStation, Carlson, or similar equipment for precise data collection in various terrains and environments. Support construction teams by providing real-time positioning data during excavation, foundation work, or structural installation phases. Requirements Proven experience in land surveying within civil engineering or construction environments with familiarity in GPS technology, total stations, 3D scanners, and CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation or Carlson. Strong understanding of geometry, trigonometry, algebra, and math principles essential for accurate measurements and calculations. Knowledge of GIS applications like ArcGIS for mapping and spatial analysis tasks. Ability to interpret technical schematics, blueprints, schematics, ALTA surveys, and construction drawings effectively. Proficiency in data collection techniques using Trimble or similar survey equipment; experience with laser scanning technology is a plus. Familiarity with land surveying standards including boundary determination, topographic mapping, site layout staking, and construction layout procedures. Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail; ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards. Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams; capable of documenting survey findings clearly and accurately. Join us as a Construction Surveyor if you're eager to leverage your technical expertise in a fast-paced environment where your contributions directly impact the success of major infrastructure projects!
